Defending historical buildings from wildfire.

Once a landmark burns, its story is gone. Here’s why our founder has spent fifteen years asking the government to defend America’s historical buildings — and how we’re finally doing it without toxic chemicals.

Our founder has advocated for fifteen years that government needs to defend our historical buildings — without toxic chemicals. Through the Safer Chemistry 501(c)(3) nonprofit, that mission is now being actively implemented in the field.

~24%
of properties on the National Register of Historic Places sit in counties classified as having high or very high wildfire risk.

These structures share the conditions that make wildfire most dangerous: older, combustible materials; dense placement; and proximity to wildland zones where embers travel. Once a landmark is destroyed by fire, its cultural significance cannot be recovered — not by insurance, not by rebuilding, not by anything.

Wildfire Pro Shop partners with the Safer Chemistry Nonprofit to apply CitroTech — the only EPA Safer Choice–certified product in the fire-retardant category — to historical buildings during dangerous wildfire seasons. Donations to the nonprofit directly fund this preservation work.

If you care about keeping America’s history standing, this is the most direct way to help.
