The only EPA Safer Choice–certified fire retardant in the world.
Effective, affordable, non-toxic. We didn't believe you had to compromise — so we didn't.
Most commercial fire retardants get the job done at a real cost: long-lasting toxic residues, contaminated soils, downstream impacts on water and wildlife, and a known cancer risk for the firefighters who spray them. We thought that trade-off was unacceptable.
Our retardant chemistry is the only fire-retardant product on the planet currently certified under the U.S. EPA's Safer Choice program — an independent certification that verifies a product performs as advertised and meets the EPA's strictest criteria for human and environmental health. The certification is granted only after rigorous third-party review and is renewed on a regular schedule.
EPA Safer Choice
The only fire retardant currently certified under the U.S. EPA's strictest health and performance criteria.
ASTM E84 Class A
Highest flame-spread classification available under ASTM standard testing.
UL Greenguard
Independently tested for low chemical emissions in indoor environments.
CAL FIRE listed
Approved for use in California's wildfire-prone WUI zones.
What "Safer Choice" actually changes.
Conventional retardants
- Long-lasting toxic residues in soil and water
- Known cancer risk to firefighters with repeated exposure
- Cannot be used inside homes or near food production
- Cannot be used around horses, livestock, or sanctuary animals
- Contaminates agricultural land
Our chemistry
- EPA Safer Choice–certified for human & environmental health
- Safe for the firefighters who deploy it, even with repeated exposure
- Approved for use inside homes and on framing assemblies
- Non-toxic to horses, livestock, and sanctuary animals
- Will not compromise future agricultural use
Where it can be used
Because our retardant earned the EPA Safer Choice mark, it can be deployed in environments that conventional retardants cannot:
Inside homes and on framing assemblies during construction
Around horses, livestock, sanctuary animals, and pets
On agricultural land without compromising future use
On firefighter equipment and personal protective gear
For partners and policymakers
We brief fire chiefs, code officials, insurers, sustainability executives, and brand-side procurement teams on the science, the certification, and the deployment options. If your organization is evaluating safer fire-defense chemistry — at any scale — we'd like to talk.

Steve Conboy briefs decision-makers personally. If you're an insurer, code official, fire chief, or procurement lead, we'll walk you through the chemistry and the certification.
