What we collect
We only collect information you provide directly:
- Donation information — name, email, billing address, and payment details (processed by Square — never stored on our servers).
- Newsletter signups — email address only.
- Contact form submissions — name, email, subject, and message.
- Anonymous usage data — page views, referrers, and device type via Google Analytics 4. No personally identifiable information is collected.
How we use it
We use the information we collect to:
- Process donations and issue tax receipts.
- Send updates about our work, but only if you've subscribed.
- Respond to inquiries you've submitted through our contact form.
- Improve the site based on aggregate usage patterns.
What we don't do
We never sell, rent, or trade donor information. We don't share your contact information with other organizations, and we don't use it to retarget you with advertising.
Cookies & analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use it. Analytics cookies are anonymous and aggregated. We don't use third-party advertising cookies. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the browser opt-out.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
- Request that we correct or delete your information.
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time (link is in every email).
- Cancel a recurring donation by emailing donate@saferchemistry.org.
Third-party services
We rely on a small set of trusted services:
- Square — payment processing for donations
- Formspree — newsletter and contact form delivery
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymous site usage
Each has its own privacy policy. We share only the minimum information necessary for them to do their job.
