The Wildfire Pro Shop founder doesn’t like reading this kind of news about wildfire exit corridors that could trap and hurt so many. He is hoping to rally the communities around Lake Tahoe to help our voices be heard — and to gain grant funding to spray those exit corridors with CitroTech.
Lake Tahoe’s limited evacuation routes could trap vehicles in gridlock during a major wildfire, with some analyses suggesting it could take over 10 to 14 hours for residents and tourists to evacuate the basin, according to reporting by CalMatters and the Orange County Register.
Pre-treating those corridors with CitroTech — the world’s only EPA Safer Choice–certified fire retardant — gives vegetation along the road edge a meaningful head start against ember showers and roadside ignition.
