San Diego Fire-Rescue is proactively spraying CitroTech across 46 acres of high-risk evacuation corridors and recently abated encampments — treating the vegetation along the routes residents would depend on most before a fire ever starts.
Fire Marshal Tony Tosca calls it a preventative measure focused on at-risk communities with only one evacuation route — the neighborhoods where a single blocked road can leave residents with nowhere to go.
Pre-treating those corridors with CitroTech — the world’s only EPA Safer Choice–certified fire retardant — gives roadside vegetation a meaningful head start against ember showers and roadside ignition. Unlike conventional retardants, CitroTech carries EPA Safer Choice, UL GreenGuard Gold, and Class A certifications, which means it can be applied near drinking water sources, wildlife habitat, and the people who live along these routes without the toxic trade-offs.
